11/28/08

My Thanksgiving gain was 1.2. I knew it would be a gain, but by posting this maybe I will show a loss next week if I behave myself.

Tammie,Randy, Cindy, Jaydee and Kendra were here for dinner. Joe and Jacob came for dessert. Abby went to Colorado with relatives and Angie felt she should spend the day with her Grandma so she would not have to spend thanksgiving alone.

Today I braved the crowds and did a little shopping. I didn't get up before dawn. By the time I got to Walmart it seemed like a typical Saturday am crowd. Shopko and the mall were crowded. I did get a couple of things I was looking for so I guess it was worth it.

I worked on getting my yard cleaned up and then watched the Huskers pull out a thriller of a finish to beat Colorado. I think my heart is still pounding.

Tomorrow I plan to go visit Mick and see if he is settling in the assisted living.

Let's hope the weather cooperates for our get together on the 13th. Cindy and the girls will be there, but Tammie has her bank party that night so can't make it. Joe & Jacob are going to Crete turkey hunting as part of his birthday weekend.

Happy Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving everyone.

We walked with 30,000 other people.  Together we raised $700,000 for the Sacramento Food Bank.

Shae is five

A Happy Thanksgiving to Everyone.

There needs to be an addition the birthday list.  Shae Johnston is missing.
Her daddy noticed.  Grandma didn't.

Here's the first of things Janell, maybe, didn't know about our family.

Our family lived on three different farms before Grandma and Grandpa Anderson's place.
They were known as the Peterson Place, the Way Place, and the Yost place.

The Peterson place was owned by Eddie Peterson who lived in Omaha.  Our neighbors across the street were Ernest and Vernie Crawford.  The Moores lived down the hill.  I think  they were Mary's grandparents.

More later.  I have five handwritten pages to post.

11/21/08

I gained .8 this week.

The endoscopy went well and got a good report. I didn't have to be sedated as deeply as when they do the ablation so I didn't have to sleep all afternoon. I wasn't supposed to drive until Tuesday am So - Shirley & I just bummed around Monday afternoon. Adam joined us for supper and brought a pumpkin pie that one of his friends had made from scratch.

f-stop Friday. since I haven't figured out how to post pictures yet, I'll just say it is frigid Friday. Brrr.

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone.

Doesn't anyone want this turkey for Thanksgiving?

Christmas '08 Part IV

How does December 13 at 5:00 PM at Lisa's work for everyone? I will need to talk to her on Thurs AM to set it for sure, but I think that might work. If not, we'll adjust.

How about the menu we picked?
Nothing is written in stone so we are wide open for suggestions.

Christmas '08 Part III

Okay, Shirley says:
"Cassie won't have Alex on the weekend of the 6th."
"Can we have it on a Sunday?" And
"Can we go to her place instead of Lisa's?"

Just so you know, Lisa was looking forward to hosting it again. We can reserve Shirley's for '09?

Shirley

The real Shirley, not Bob. Happy Birthday.
Is the 6th going to work for you for Christmas?

Christmas '08 Part II

Okay, it's set:

Saturday December 6
5 PM at Scott and Lisa's

We'll need a head count, please. There will be four Carsons.

Here are my thoughts on the menu:
Quiches (3-4 - I'll make these)
Bacon and sausage links
Hash brown casserole
Mixed fruit salad
French Toast (Jack will make this)
Coffee
Juices

Any other ideas? If you are okay with the menu, tell me what you want to bring.

Each person should bring a white elephant gift for the exchange. Shirley, can you coordinate that again?

Christmas '08

I talked to Lisa yesterday and she wants to have it at her house, pot luck. She has to check Faith's and Bob's game schedules for December. If we want it to be on the first Saturday in December, she thinks we will have to have it in the afternoon, rather than morning, but we'd like to bring brunch food anyway. We'd also like to do the white elephant gift again. I'll visit with her again on Monday to get a sate set for certain. Does anyone have a particular day in mind? Any other thoughts?

I'm taking Mick to the doctor tomorrow morning and for a tour of the assisted living wing at the manor.

When & where do you want to have Christmas?
