Progress

Minus 3 pounds.
What is everyone else doing to keep the scale going down? I've been avoiding sugar like it's the plague and I'm trying to go walking for at least 30 minutes 4-5 times a week. I'm snacking on vegetables like celery, instead of potato chips (I really miss potato chips) and have been having a salad for dinner instead of last night's meat & potatoes leftovers. I'm SUCH a Redneck, I wouldn't bother to eat if I couldn't have meat & potatoes daily. Brooke was right about sipping water to stave off the munchies, so I'm doing that, too.

Help me out here, people.

Sounds like you are doing all the right things. You don't need any more advice.

Well I forgot to weigh myself this morning so I will check in tomorrow. Lost power last night and I ran around this morning with my head cutoff.

I have a list of snacks on my fridge of what I can eat. I don't have it in front of me right now but its something likes this:

Apples
Applesauce
String cheese
fat free pudding
pickles
string cheese
pineapple
yogart

I have smaller portions then I used to. I walk 20 minutes on the treadmill, 10 on the eleptical.

I hope some of this helps.

Oh I don't avoid my sugars completely I do eat just a little because your body needs some fat.

Thanks to good ol' Mother Nature, and the chocolate binge that proceeded, I'm up 1.5. Better than last month's 4.0 gain during Her binge! We re-joined the Y, Weds. I have 4 of the 7 days of a "normal" week that is open on my calendar. My goal is 2-3 days/week at the Y. It's been 4-5 months since I've been, so it will be interesting to see how far I have slipped in my progress. As I was cleaning, I found my "workout" card from 3 years ago, which tracked the amount of weight on each of the circuit machines as well as treadmill. My weight and all that was on it as well. I've come a loooong way! :D Down 55 lbs since then, not to mention the much better speed and distance on the treadmill!
TIP ON CHIPS: Oven baked sweet potato chips are good. Although they are about twice the cost, Flat Earth brand chips are good too. Flat Earth doesn't have the fat of regular chips, but are better tasting than Lays baked (pre-pressed nastiness...eww).

Thanks, guys.
Brooke, that list looks good.
Cindy; I'll be looking for the sweet potato chips. Right now the celery satisfies my crunch craving, but I'm sure I'll burn out on that before too long.

I'm thinking like Sue. you're doing fine. If the celery gets old, I used the "baby" carrots for snacking when I did a stint on WW. I kind of even got "addicted" to them as the crunchiness and sweetness was just right for a while.

Ok I did my weigh in this morning and I am still sitting the same. Which I can handle because that means i didn't gain anything. I start an intense gym workout this week so we will see how much this changes my weight in the next few weeks.
